The finished sawmill layout will be at the RAMMA Sedan exhibition 8/9 October, the US convention in Rodgau 15/16 October and 5/6 november at the Spoorgroep Zuid exhibition in Helmond 5/6 November ( my local club) Invitation for Railexpo 2011 in Villebon for 25/27 November is in, no confirmation yet. Intermodellbau 2012 in Dortmund is planned.

After a very bad time healthwise the interest in modelling has returned. The mental effect was devastating, but has been overcome. I have strted with the research for a new project.

Sorry to hear that you've been ill. I hope that your mental health has improved, now that your appetite for model railroading has returned.

I too have been psychologically 'under a cloud' so to speak. Today - after a year - the lighting in the basement has been installed. There was previously only one 'emergency' light down there. Now there are four including a light to enlighten the stairs! Ah! I don't need to fear going down there again! Next step will be painting the walls. And after that - layout tables! Who knows?

Your railroading is on a completely different level from mine - but this will be only my first layout...

Good railroading jacq!

The layout had very good comments on all exhibitions, with 1st price on the Railexpo in Villebon. After the Intermodellbau in Dortmund, thing s turned bad.
I had already some mobility problems, but was able to move with a stick, walker and wheelchair to have an enjoyable show.
The day after returning home, I was taken to hospital with paralyzing symptoms of my legs. This was caused by a swelling in the lower spine. After 2 operations, 90% of all feelings and the ability to use my legs again returned. Presently I walk with a cane and walker and a heavy physiotherapy program of 2x a week full day revalidation. In the same time with my wife an uncurable braintumor was discovered, giving her another 3 months to live. She died the 1st of Juli.
Some interest in modelling returned and am presently preparing the costums papers to go to the (last?) US convention in Adliswil in Switzerland. Alan Rees is coming together with more friends. I am looking fwd to it.

Jacq,

I am very saddened to hear about your health problems, but, more importantly, the death of your wife!! :(
I wish you a speedy recovery from your physical problems!!

It was a pleasure to meet you and see your layout at Railexpo 2007, and I hope to see your new layout in not too distant future!!

Best wishes,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss and also your health issues.

I saw the write up of the Villebon exhibition in LR and other magazines.
Absolutely fantastic is the only expression I can find to describe the layout.
