The Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition, Derby, Oct. 2002

It was a big show and what follows is only a very small taster. Here are some models that particularly took my fancy:

3.5" gauge model of CHARLES built by Fred Winsall of the Rugby Model Engineering Society.

3.5" gauge model of LILLA built by Fred Winsall of the Rugby Model Engineering Society.

5" gauge model of an "ALICE" class loco. This is a modified 7.25" design and is a large loco for 5". Built by J Fysh of Derbyshire.

5" gauge model of TALYLLYN built by G Smith  of the Burton on Trent Model Engineering Society.

American 2-4-4 Mason Bogie (known as a Single Fairlie in the UK) built by I Tricklebank displayed on the 7¼" Gauge Society stand.

7¼" gauge American 4-4-0 of the New York Central & Hudson River Railroad.

5" gauge Shay geared locomotive built by Brian Mould of the Bromsgrove Society of Model Engineers.

Scaleway's impressive range of signal kits.
