For sale

If you would like to advertise your items for sale, please email me. I do not charge for putting the information on the site, but if you'd like to "make a donation" towards the running costs of the site, that'd be much appreciated.

I know of a number of locos for sale (though not mine):

John Romanes of the Havelock North Live Steamers is selling his 7¼" gauge ALCO PA1 petrol-electric.

I have driven this loco and it is a good hauler and easy to operate. Please contact John directly for more information: romanes@paradise.net.nz

John Heald (of Rotorua) is selling his 7¼" gauge Kerr-Stuart 0-4-2T "TAGUS".

"The Tagus has covered 250 hours of running and no major problems have occurred. Tagus has run at Whakatane, Thames, Tauranga, Manakau, Havelock North and here in Rotorua. No derailing problems. The engine comes with tender, although it can be run with or without tender depending on the type of carriages being used. I can arrange a steam up for serious buyers. The engine boiler comes with a new certificate and is a locomotive type unit, NOT briggs.  Treatment has always been Terlyn LSB 8000, probably the best you can buy. I will stand by any mechanical defects for a period of time, however this would be negotiated with the purchaser as to what they feel is needed. Total length overall, including tender, is about 2.5mtres. Weight of engine fully loaded is about 420kg, tender about 80kg."

Price is in the region of NZ$35,000. Please contact John directly for more information: joro1@vodafone.co.nz

Paul Newton (also of Rotorua) is selling his 7¼" Uintah 2-6-6-2T articulated. Please note this is not a Mallet as it is NOT a compound.

The loco has a current boiler certificate. She is a superb runner but Paul admits that within the next year or so she will require a running-gear overhaul (i.e. pins, etc). Paul is looking for about NZ$25,000 "as is" or if he overhauls it before sale it will obviously be a lot higher.

Please contact Paul directly for more information: suespaul@yahoo.co.nz
