The diesel CAPTAIN HOWEY passes SOUTHERN MAID at (I think) St. Mary's Bay station

SOUTHERN MAID at Dungeness

The shingle at Dungeness provides are a rather bleak environment for the railway

SAMSON piloting SOUTHERN MAID at New Romney
SAMSON and four carriages were taken off the train here at New Romney and SOUTHERN MAID continued to Dungeness alone
Both of these locos were built by Davey Paxman in Colchester in the 1920s. The same company also built some of the locos for the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway
