Merstham Valley Railway - 7¼" gauge

Construction 1989    Exhibition 2001    Exhibition 2003    Assorted views

The Merstham Model Steam Show (http://www.mmss.co.uk/) is usually held on the second or third weekend of May each and every year within the grounds of St Nicholas School, Taynton Drive, Merstham, Surrey. In addition to the many exhibitors and traders that attend the show the Merstham Valley Railway is in full operation.

There are some photos on their own website showing the railway in action during the show - http://www.mmss.co.uk/gallery/

The Merstham Valley Railway in operation at the exhibition in May 2003

Now based on the Swanley New Barn Railway, "SIR GOSS" made a guest appearance at Merstham for the 2003 show

The curve behind the "dumped" bank of earth (cut out of the trackbed in 1989) is now well established

What was the run-round at the terminus for many years is now the passing loop at the halfway point
